      He was a Public Official from 1720 to 1730 in Rhode Island. (1) Like h i s father
      before him, Christopher was a member of the Rhode Island General Assemb l y -
      representing Westerly from 1723 - 1726. He was also a Justice of the Pea c e there
      for over ten years, having first been appointed in May 1720 and final l y refusing
      another appointment by the General Assembly in May 1730.

      A relatively wealthy man, Christopher bequeathed in his Will over £ 3 , 300 cash
      money and over £3,700 worth of property including the following specific s : .....

      *The Narragansett Plantations were the only place in New England wh i ch relied
      heavily on the use of slave labor.
      He served in the military 1730 to May 1733. Christopher was a Capta i n, and
      later, a Colonel in the King's Country Troop of Horse from June 1730 unt i l at least
      May 1733.
