  Copied from a letter to Sam Hood from Willis S. Hood, February 28, 1964 He was killed in an auto accident, someplace in Maryland, for he and another young man were in the Military business in Ashville, N.C., and had been to New York City, to buy hats and get up the new styles, and were on their way home and ran into the side of a bus or truck, account not stopping for a bus sign, and he and his pardoner and a lady were killed, any another lady was hurt, but lived.
